Travel

Copenhagen is served by an international airport, the Copenhagen Central Railway Station and a network of motorways.

Copenhagen's international airport (Kastrup) is the largest in the Nordic countries. A number of airlines operate to and from Copenhagen - please note that SAS offers a special discount on tickets as the official airline for the IIRA European Congress 2010. Delegates continuing to BUIRA's 60th anniversary conference in Manchester 1-3 July may also use the discount on the Manchester flights operated by SAS. Read more

The Metro from Copenhagen Airport offers you a direct train every 4-6 minutes to the city centre of Copenhagen and will take approximately 15 minutes. For further information, please check the Copenhagen Metro website

A taxi from Copenhagen Airport to the city centre is approximately DKK 250 (no extra charges for suitcases).

When in Copenhagen, trains, buses, and ferries operate very frequently on a daily basis.

Climate

June/July is an ideal time to visit Denmark - then it is summer and the weather is usually very pleasant and sunny. The average temperature is around 19 °C. However, the weather is always difficult to predict - on occasion an umbrella may be useful. For weather forecasts etc., please visit the Danish Meteorological Institute's website

Visa

The entry formalities for Denmark vary according to the country of origin. Congress delegates are asked to address enquiries about entry and vaccination requirements to the travel agent or to the local Danish Embassy or Consulate in their home country. Further information can be obtained on the website for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark
